Impact of the Role:


As AV Technician & Equipment Manager, you will help support our Faculty members as well as collaborate with our Operations and Production teams.This role will assess and educate Faculty on what hardware will be ideal to ensure clear AV capture during recordings; this will require troubleshooting hardware and software issues over Zoom. Additionally, this role will work with the Sr. Operations Manager to take on the responsibility of ordering, storing, shipping, and the return of hardware to and from Faculty members. This position will also help the Manager of Post Production and the Production Designer to research and test new equipment options as well as develop standard AV media kits to be sent to the Faculty.


Some Responsibilities:


  • Troubleshoot and educate on technical issues during meetings with Faculty and The Shift Network (TSN) partners as needed
  • Attend meetings with Faculty and other TSN partners with the Production Designer to ensure highest levels of AV quality capture
  • Work with the Sr. Operations Manager to transition responsibilities for equipment ordering, storage, shipment, and returns
  • Collaborate with Production team members to research and test new equipment options
  • Work with the Manager of Post Production to develop standardization for AV media kits and other equipment tracking and management systems
  • Document and produce tutorials for all standard equipment used by TSN



What is Needed to Succeed


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 3-5 years of related experience to include equipment management or AV technician experience
  • Experience working with talent
  • Experience working with Zoom in an AV capacity
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise form
  • Ability to communicate across multiple teams effectively
  • Comfortable working in both a team environment and independently
  • The capacity to grow with the needs and responsibilities of the position
