Impact of the Role:

The Social Media Coordinator is an essential part of all Shift shared media communications and storytelling, with audiences seeking, as well as discovering and interacting with, courses, events, program-related content that is specifically framed for social media. The ideal candidate has an abundant skillset to identify engaging content, plan all output and write necessary copy for posts while working closely with the Vice President of Media, Director, Content Planning & Marketing, and Creative Director to adhere to brand guidelines, storytelling verticals, and quality standards.

Some Responsibilities:

• Write, create, and schedule content for social media platforms including social posts that are as short as 140 characters and blog posts as long as 200 words
• Create images or graphics to accompany posts, producing and curating photos or videos for social platforms, producing mobile-optimized stories for platforms such as TikTok
• Utilize SEO and Shift naming conventions to optimize posts with knowledge of mobile app development and algorithms 
• Discover influencers and aligned brands to create partnerships and engagement opportunities on social platforms
• Fully devise, map and publish the multi-platform social media content calendar
• Identify and implement growth opportunities and retention best practices for adaptability and positioning of Shift social content
• Utilize basic design and editing tools such as Canva

What is Needed to Succeed:

• Highly communicative with an agile, creative mind with a keen editorial eye
• Knowledge of transformational market and social messaging landscape
• Awareness of mainstream social media campaigns that are implementing traditional transformational teachings and messaging
• Proven track record of devising and implementing multi-platform content that grow and encourage audience engagement
• Enthusiastic problem solver with the ability to devise and implement user-generated content campaigns
• Strong knowledge of production planning and flow, from pre-production to production to post-production
• Interest in designing and producing compelling content with respect for a wide range of demographics and target audiences
• Interest in or familiarity with inclusive design and storytelling
• Skills and experience necessary to pitch to, and work with, partners and influencers
• Willingness to communicate fresh ideas in accessible ways within teams and across departments
