As Director of Product Marketing, Mobile Apps, you’ll function as the marketing leader for Shift’s growing mobile app initiatives. In this role, you’ll develop and execute strategic and tactical marketing plans -- including establishing a mobile app funnel, audience targeting, ROI-based multi-channel campaign sprints, content marketing and targeted messaging -- to drive discovery, adoption, conversion and retention of Shift’s mobile app. You’ll work collaboratively with other marketing leads on the development and execution of multi-channel paid and organic push and pull campaigns, while also working closely with our mobile app PM and content/development teams to optimize the customer experience, ensuring maximum value and stickiness for our customers.


Responsibilities and Desired Skills:


  • Lead and own the marketing strategy, execution and performance for our new mobile app, including developing effective growth strategies and performance-based, multi-channel marketing campaigns 
  • Lead forecasting and planning efforts in order to deliver against business and growth strategies 
  • Establish a deep understanding of our app customer, utilizing audience segment targeting and personas as the foundation for campaign, content and feature strategies 
  • Proactively identify research needs to understand customers more intimately in order to deliver business results 
  • Establish OKRs to match our ambitious customer adoption and revenue goals, and monitor performance daily to experiment, iterate and optimize quickly 
  • Manage ongoing, multi-faceted marketing channels and tactics including landing pages, social, paid ads, search, mobile, affiliate, content marketing, database/email marketing, in-app and push to drive product discovery, conversion and engagement to reach goals 
  • Develop a deep knowledge of Shift’s eco-system, applying a customer lifecycle approach while building an effective app marketing funnel to deliver growth 
  • Proactively identify research needs to understand customers more intimately in order to deliver business results 
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative research methods along with experiments and rigorous A/B testing to drive both product and marketing optimization to maximize results
  • Develop and lead weekly, monthly and quarterly data-based business reviews to keep key stakeholders informed and aligned on needs to optimize performance


Qualifications and Characteristics Desired:

 

  • 5+ years experience in B2C mobile app marketing, at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Must have solid overall experience in, and deep understanding of, online/digital marketing, eCommerce and subscription
  • BA/BS degree required 
  • Must have direct people management experience 
  • Excellent leadership & collaboration skills are a must 
  • Experience in utilizing martech tools, A/B testing, data and analytics to optimize growth is a must (ie: Google Analytics, Iterable, mParticle, Amplify, Tableau)
  • Experience with martech and testing tools, analytics platforms, app messaging and mobile marketing software (e.g. mParticle, Iterable, Amplify, Tableau, etc.)
  • Knowledge of paid and funnel tracking platforms (e.g. Facebook Ad Manager, Google AdWords, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 360, MMP, etc)
  • Deep analytics background, comfortable applying data-driven decision making within imperfect or incomplete information environments
  • Ability to make complex data-driven decisions and balance short & long term tradeoff 
  • Possession of sharp analytical skills, with the ability to cut through complex datasets to formulate actionable insights. 
  • Combine a customer-centric, data-oriented mindset with creative/brand sensibilities -- able to evaluate creative content effectively, including conversion-focused copy and guiding marketing content to align with brand voice/positioning
  • Strong collaborative team player with high emotional intelligence
  • Alignment with Shift’s mission, along with a passion for learning, personal growth and transformational education


Work Location: Two days office attendance required for local employees on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when past current events, otherwise remote


Work Hours: Generally Monday-Friday, 9:00-6:00 (unless otherwise indicated)
