The Course Manager is responsible for overseeing and delivering introductory and advanced courses that are offered by The Shift Network, in collaboration with faculty partners, and in service to customers. Primary duties include:

  • Managing the development of online transformational courses
  • Ensuring smooth delivery of live, pre-recorded, or hybrid online courses
  • Acting as the primary contact with faculty, communicating effectively and clearly
  • Collaboratively designing online courses with faculty and the Product Marketing Team
  • Project management including tracking and reporting of assigned courses
  • Operating conference software interfaces during live and pre-recorded online courses, and/or overseeing Program Host
  • Managing the course community group
  • Ensuring the course design meets the transformational and educational needs of participants with diverse learning styles
  • Attending team meetings and supporting the team of Course Managers
  • Management and interaction and guidance of Program Host during live events

The Course Manager provides consistent support of the course with an eye to quality control and continuous improvement. This position requires a fine balance of highly technical skills, project management, communication skills and possibly live presentation skills, along with management skills to monitor and support a Course Host.

The Course Manager reports to and supports the Director of Product Design & Delivery to:

  • Ensure the smooth delivery of online content both through live calls and hosted programs
  • Ensure that courses are marketable and aligned with revenue goals
  • Review course feedback and make suggestions
  • Provide assistance to improve overall course experience and internal processes

Responsibilities and Desired Skills:

  • Collaborates with Director of Product Design & Delivery to ensure an efficient and effective production delivery process and smooth course delivery
  • Primary contact with Course Faculty including:
    • Ensuring that your faculty feels supported in a professional and skilled manner
    • Holding the Orientation Meeting to bring faculty up-to-speed on our process and to guide them in beginning their creative process
    • Collaborating with Faculty and Director of Product Design & Delivery to determine course design and session format
  • Attending at Discovery and Development Meetings to collaborate with faculty and Product Marketing team in crafting the course positioning
  • During course, sending all call-in information to primary and guest faculty
  • Handling all faculty requests including those relayed by Course Host
  • Holding meetings with the Faculty, Course Host, and other appropriate delivery team members to review course needs, as necessary
  • Holding the Delivery Meeting with members of the host and media team for set, lighting, and sound design as well as course session flow.
  • Ensuring that marketing modules have been completed

Responsible for Customer Engagement including:

  • Course detail emails
  • Course homework emails
  • Course bonus reminders
  • Course completion emails
  • Managing all email communications for course while fostering customer engagement
  • Managing Course Community Group
  • Managing course participant engagement and responding to inquiries

General Responsibilities including:

  • Filling out production documents, including: Orientation Meeting Notes, Faculty Deliverables and Resources document, Delivery Meeting Notes
  • Ensuring course back-end notes are complete and accurate
  • Ensuring professional and smooth delivery of live course sessions and course materials.
  • Managing marketing bonus preparation for each course: Collection potential bonus materials from database, look at faculty’s website for potential materials, introduce to faculty what bonuses are, fill in the Bonus Document and following up to ensure we’ve received the bonus content Supports evaluation and feedback processes to ensure continuous improvement
  • Managing custom components for advanced courses including organizing practice groups, arranging individual coaching, etc.
  • Hosting/driving or managing Course Host on calls for courses assigned
  • Troubleshooting technology issues when hosting programs
  • Responding to requests from Product Marketing team and relaying delivery considerations
  • Interacting with Customer Support Department for clear communications with customer
  • Working with Course Translation department for conversion of course materials to other languages
  • Managing tasks in Asana
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications and Characteristics Desired:

  • 2-3 years project management or administrative experience
  • Ability to interface with leading faculty and colleagues in a highly professional manner
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience in hosting programs, in person or online, with comfort and confidence in public speaking
  • An understanding of transformational learning and online learning
  • Competence and confidence with technology platforms preferably with experience in Zoom (or other conferencing tools), InfusionSoft (or similar CRMs), Slack, Asana and Confluence
  • Knowledge of transformational content, including leading teachers, schools of thought, and market trends
  • Flexibility to multi-task and change directions at a moment’s notice
  • Excellent organizational, time, strategic, management, writing and communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Prefer experience in hosting events in a virtual, online environment
  • Must have reliable home office equipment including high-speed internet connection, prefer landline, and quiet environment to host public programs
  • 1-2 years remote office experience, preferred

Work Location: Two days office attendance required for local employees on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when past current events, otherwise remote

Work Hours: Generally Monday-Friday, 9:00-6:00 (unless otherwise indicated)
